Seeing was good but somewhat variable during first half, better second half. Fritz was in during the afternoon working on the DIS problem; he got the red channel working by swapping out an interface card. Everything seemed normal with DIS after that. I checked out Agile and confirmed normal communications with the instrument. We saw some tracking imperfections during high transits (81-83 deg) in both the north and south, but nothing excessive; this is always a hard part of the sky to track accurately, so observers should use caution for high objects. We also saw some windshake in the west, but again nothing beyond what would be expected. During second half, the DIS slitviewer started displaying all zeros. I restarted the dcamera and dcam nubs, did a dcam init, and that cleared it up. Only about two minutes of cloudy time were lost so I didn't log it. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:19 ECHELLE -46(-1118) 218 37 -1.6 -0.2 -0.6 -1.3 -1.6 ND2 1.15 21:37 dis-slit -1( -392) 106 45 -2.1 -2.3 -1.4 -2.9 -2.4 - 1.30 23:20 APOLLO 24( 386) 54 82 -2.4 -2.8 -1.8 -3.1 -2.7 - 1.00 00:51 dis-slit 47( -389) 123 66 -2.7 -2.8 -1.9 -3.2 -2.9 - 1.00 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 34 8 16 205 (SSW) 1586 ptly cldy none 17:00 30 8 10 187 (S) 1499 ptly cldy none 18:00 29 9 13 191 (S) 1406 ptly cldy none 19:00 29 9 19 202 (SSW) 1440 ptly cldy none 20:00 28 9 16 181 (S) 1386 ptly cldy none 21:00 29 9 16 201 (SSW) 1349 ptly cldy none 22:00 28 9 24 213 (SSW) 1294 ptly cldy none 23:00 29 10 21 196 (SSW) 1458 mstly clr none 00:00 28 11 21 205 (SSW) 1499 mstly clr none 01:00 27 12 20 202 (SSW) 1763 mstly clr none 02:00 27 11 24 223 (SW) 1681 mstly clr none 03:00 27 11 20 233 (SW) 1506 mstly clr none 04:00 27 11 18 250 (WSW) 1478 ptly cldy none 05:00 27 12 21 266 (W) 1178 ptly cldy none 06:00 26 14 21 265 (W) 1126 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
