Intermittent phone and internet connections. Could not control anything in the dome including tcc, telmech, echelle motor controller etc. Fritz was called and after some investigation he decided to come out to the site. 21:45 Fritz managed to piece things back together. Three fiber connections to the intermediate level had failed. He found a fourth option and got the telescope back online. 22:00 Finally got on sky for science. Clouds increased significantly during second half. From 3:00am on overcast skies were thick enough to be unusable. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- DD01,UC05 D T/H 16:30 21:45 network connections down ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 25 1 8 356 (N) 280 clear none 17:00 24 1 0 55 (NE) 295 clear none 18:00 24 -4 8 33 (NNE) 254 clear none 19:00 24 -6 16 358 (N) 98 clear none 20:00 25 -3 15 352 (N) 112 clear none 21:00 25 -1 11 3 (N) 119 clear none 22:00 24 0 13 12 (NNE) 214 mstly clr none 23:00 23 1 10 1 (N) 143 mstly clr none 00:00 23 1 9 351 (N) 402 ptly cldy none 01:00 24 3 7 360 (N) 184 ptly cldy none 02:00 24 3 14 336 (NNW) 218 mstly cldy none 03:00 24 4 8 330 (NNW) 246 cloudy none 04:00 24 3 3 296 (WNW) 339 cloudy none 05:00 25 -2 6 351 (N) 230 cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
