I eventually got the pointing back by rotating the tertiary and setting it to the echelle (to confirm that that was pointing fine, it was) then rotating back. We lost about an hour with this problem (I wasn't iinformed of the problem until around 05:30) No problems otherwise. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CU05 D T/H 05:05 06:06 Telescope pointing went bad at NA2 port. ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:41 DISslit 160(504) 97 52 11.5 13.3 13.6 12.5 11.8 -- 1.3 20:45 DISslit 256(526) 24 55 10.8 11.9 13.1 10.7 11.0 -- 1.3 00:09 APOLLO 206(1240) -39 44 10.3 10.1 11.6 9.6 10.1 -- -- 01:17 Echelle 160(-385) -115 39 10.2 10.0 11.3 9.8 -- ND1 1.3 02:16 Echelle 118(-448) -70 46 9.9 9.8 10.8 9.6 9.9 ND3 1.1 03:27 DISSlit 48(245) 176 62 10.1 9.7 10.6 9.3 9.7 -- 1.2 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions --------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 60 47 13 241 (WSW) 698 cldy none 17:00 56 43 15 265 (W) 695 cldy none 18:00 54 42 16 269 (W) 683 cldy none 19:00 53 43 12 264 (W) 654 Pt.
