Once we felt it was safe we opened. At 04:45 and again a few minutes later the rotator halted due to over current conditions. We were pointed just north of west where the field rotation is rather slow. Rotator at -125 degrees. Trying to drive such a heavy instrument at such slow speeds was likely the cause. After the rotation axis was init-ed currents seen on the dataq were in the 1.0 - 1.06 range before the second over current condition at 04:52. Recovery was quick on both events and no equipment time loss will be recorded. No other problems. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- UW06 D T/H --:-- --:-- Rotator overcurrent UW06 D T/H --:-- --:-- Rotator overcurrent ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 22:47 dis-slit -207(134) 29 78 11.8 13.0 13.1 12.6 12.4 - 1.3 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 65 42 11 268 (W) 1653 mstly cldy none 17:00 63 44 11 218 (SW) 1904 ptly cldy none 18:00 57 42 8 260 (W) 1599 ptly cldy none 19:00 57 41 6 252 (WSW) 1346 ptly cldy none 20:00 55 41 7 225 (SW) 1201 ptly cldy none 21:00 55 41 7 221 (SW) 1204 ptly cldy none 22:00 55 41 4 195 (SSW) 1195 ptly cldy none 23:00 53 41 5 182 (S) 1151 mstly clr none 00:00 54 42 5 188 (S) 1127 clear none 01:00 54 43 5 185 (S) 1105 mstly cldy none 02:00 54 42 8 185 (S) 1011 clear none 03:00 54 42 10 234 (SW) 909 clear none 04:00 54 42 12 210 (SSW) 822 clear none 05:00 53 42 9 218 (SW) 908 clear none 06:00 53 41 8 187 (S) 958 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
