It started out nice and clear, so I set up to do some throughput when BD28 got high, and then clouds showed up out of nowhere (not on the satellite). So I switched to fastcam for a few hours of windshake data, and found a problem with the weather logging (including windspeed). While I was pondering that, the weather cleared -- so I switched back to DIS for throughput, and the clouds reappeared. There were also some (spurious?) reports of lightning nearby. I did some pickup science because it was easy enough for my fuzzy brain, and then I figured out the weather logging problem, but it was already too late for a proper fastcam dataset. Fastcam will be the first priority tomorrow night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 66 37 0 234 (SW) 0 ptly cldy none 17:00 65 38 7 191 (S) 0 ptly cldy none 18:00 65 35 8 180 (S) 0 ptly cldy none 19:00 61 42 12 101 (E) 0 ptly cldy none 20:00 59 41 15 112 (ESE) 0 clear none 21:00 58 41 17 110 (ESE) 0 clear none 22:00 56 43 13 102 (ESE) 216 ptly cldy none 23:00 56 43 18 113 (ESE) 49 ptly cldy none 00:00 56 43 12 84 (E) 70 clear none 01:00 54 46 12 84 (E) 22 ptly cldy none 02:00 54 43 11 83 (E) 603 ptly cldy none 03:00 56 33 10 107 (ESE) 2048 clear none 04:00 58 23 11 116 (ESE) 328 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
