I probably could have worked through some of the thinner clouds during first half, but I was expecting the rain to start Any Minute all the time, and it never did. Second half, the storm made a more serious attempt to reach us, and we did get 100% humidity for a bit, but still no actual rain. Argh. I got a fair bit of work done in-dome, but the list of things that needs to be done on-sky is not getting any smaller. > spicam TUI software testing Did some of this but couldn't do detailed testing without getting on sky. Flat script appears still broken? Comments sent to Russell and Craig. > Agile inst block troubleshooting Updated inst block, couldn't test it off-sky but it should be correct now. > new dis high res grating alignment and characterization Aligned and calibrated, appears to have similar throughput to previous grating. No chance for real throughput measurements. > checkout with new tertiary galil code Exercised tertiary in rotation and sent Russell a reasonable guess for expected errors. > tracking performance altitude tuning performance > collimation check > fastcam II data for top end - see bill's email > check pointing Not possible off-sky. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 60 50 8 169 (S) 2717 cloudy none 17:00 61 50 3 110 (ESE) 1601 cloudy none 18:00 62 50 0 255 (WSW) 1402 cloudy none 19:00 63 46 1 87 (E) 1350 cloudy none 20:00 61 48 7 81 (E) 1425 mstly cldy none 21:00 61 47 5 90 (E) 1375 ptly cldy none 22:00 60 48 7 107 (ESE) 1347 ptly cldy none 23:00 60 48 7 102 (ESE) 1406 ptly cldy none 00:00 61 46 2 102 (ESE) 1374 mstly cldy none 01:00 61 45 6 249 (WSW) 1296 cloudy none 02:00 53 50 8 30 (NNE) 1667 cloudy none 03:00 51 50 22 24 (NNE) 1094 cloudy none 04:00 52 47 17 15 (NNE) 754 cloudy none 05:00 52 43 14 13 (NNE) 540 cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
