Ketzeback During the late afternoon a software upgrade of the tertiary axis controller did not go as expected requiring that Jon B. and myself cycle power to the Galil. We then homed the Teriary mirror and rotation. Quickly rising and falling dew point all of first half led to several closures and re-openings. Seeing was also poor to gastly first half. The observers complained about tracking and pointing problems after some investigation the root cause was at one point we were closed for enough time that all the magnasensor positional information was gone. Several test slews later and things behaved OK. Hunidity again shut us down at the program change. In a few hours the dewpoint became stable enough that we could reopen. Seeing was decent secod half however cloud cover was rather variable. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:10 SPIcam -88.0(270) -132 45 13.2 16.0 16.3 15.3 13.6 r 4.5 21:19 NA2gdr -7409(27691) -133 44 13.1 15.6 15.8 14.9 13.3 R+nd2 1.3 23:19 SPIcam 100(583) -127 54 11.9 13.5 14.3 13.7 12.1 r 1.6 23:26 NA2gdr -795(32204) -128 54 12.0 13.3 13.9 13.6 12.2 clear 1.8 03:05 dis-slit 80(385) -98 66 13.9 12.2 12.2 13.2 13.0 -- 1.2 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 68 52 2 196 (SSW) 1851 ptly cldy none 17:00 71 38 1 230 (SW) 1719 ptly cldy none 18:00 69 36 1 134 (SE) 1365 ptly cldy none 19:00 65 42 1 42 (NE) 1146 ptly cldy none 20:00 60 46 17 68 (ENE) 1600 ptly cldy none 21:00 56 49 21 63 (ENE) 1852 mstly clr humid 22:00 54 51 19 71 (ENE) 1943 ptly cldy humid 23:00 54 47 21 72 (ENE) 1639 clear none 00:00 54 49 22 69 (ENE) 1957 clear humid 01:00 53 50 21 70 (ENE) 2070 clear humid 02:00 52 48 9 80 (E) 1333 ptly cldy humid 03:00 57 39 8 323 (NW) 840 ptly cldy none 04:00 57 38 7 24 (NNE) 913 mstly cldy none 05:00 58 43 19 38 (NE) 1327 mstly clr none 06:00 57 45 17 37 (NE) 1598 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
