They turned their time over to the NAIC group which made good time of the twilight and first hour of the night. Pointing was greatly improved after I zero'ed the rotator before tonights run. Around 10:15 clouds started appearing in the area. Within 5 minutes wind speeds increased to greater than 40 mph, dust levels spiked and humidity climbed. We closed quickly. Skies cleared again after 1am however dust and wind remained a problem for the remainder of the night. We never reopened. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------- 21:05 NAIC -400(908) 197 71 21.5 23.0 22.0 22.5 21.7 710 0.53 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 80 26 10 295 (WNW) 988 clear none 17:00 79 25 8 262 (W) 1079 clear none 18:00 77 25 12 270 (W) 911 clear none 19:00 75 22 7 268 (W) 803 clear none 20:00 72 20 7 272 (W) 868 clear none 21:00 71 19 4 280 (W) 817 mstly clr none 22:00 70 19 1 174 (S) 816 mstly cldy none 23:00 54 46 22 76 (ENE) 4147 cloudy dust 00:00 57 47 13 77 (ENE) 3805 mstly cldy dust 01:00 55 48 26 70 (ENE) 3587 clear dust 02:00 54 41 36 71 (ENE) 1216 clear none 03:00 51 41 35 73 (ENE) 618 clear none 04:00 50 41 33 49 (NE) 497 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
