Thanks to day staff for replacing bulb. AZ Velocity Scales: Checkout – 578.4, 582.6, Avg 580.5 Midnight – 570.9, 573.8, Avg 572.4 Morning – 572.8, 576.3, Avg 574.6 Apollo reported good signal tonight. Images were beginning to look very asymmetric in the Alt direction during second half. It didn’t seem to be tracking or guiding poorly, but the effect seemed accentuated towards the end of the night. We tried adjusting the Az velocity scale values after doing a velocity scale measurement in the morning but may have at the same time messed up the current values in the init file. So we had to revert to a previous version of the file just to clear a Motor 2 overcurrent in the Az drive (Thanks for the help Mark!). After the last science integration of the night we ran the velocity scales again for both axes: Az – 577.9, 580.0, Avg 578.9 Alt - -629.3, -632.9, Avg -631.1 ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- PU08 D T/S 03:45 04:25 Az motor 2 overcurrent ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------- 21:40 DISslit 45(575)-108 76 18.9 19.3 18.4 19.1 18.8 -- 1.0 21:40 DISslit -63(436) -74 46 18.1 17.5 17.0 17.6 17.8 -- 1.5 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 71 22 14 301 (WNW) 408 clear none 17:00 72 24 7 266 (W) 384 clear none 18:00 72 24 1 210 (SSW) 354 clear none 19:00 69 20 8 263 (W) 406 clear none 20:00 67 20 6 302 (WNW) 348 clear none 21:00 66 19 6 296 (WNW) 367 clear none 22:00 66 17 3 310 (NW) 377 clear none 23:00 66 18 4 288 (WNW) 337 clear none 00:00 65 19 4 179 (S) 389 clear none 01:00 64 18 1 181 (S) 623 clear none 02:00 65 18 3 258 (WSW) 566 mstly clr none 03:00 66 18 1 251 (WSW) 510 clear none 04:00 66 18 1 228 (SW) 635 clear none 05:00 64 18 1 255 (WSW) 734 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
