The image was actually taken (I could display it in IRAF) but wouldn't download. DISslit and the NA2 guider also had the same problem. The lower louver by AGILE was not opened when I went up into the dome, showed open in the enclosure status window and I had commanded it open. Measured the AZ velocity scale (the DATAQ looked horrible on the AZ slews). Was 577.0 Ave 586.6 Changed to 584.0 Outside Air temp 15.0C These slews looked much improved. Russet checked the magnasensors while I did a few AZ slews and reported they looked much improved (cleaning helped). Measured ALT velocity scale (The DATAQ looked pretty good but checking anyway) Was -636.0 Ave -636.3 DID NOT CHANGE Outside Air temp 15.2C We then started some SPIcam testing with Craig online cpl/z0131-z0136 poor spicam sweep due to seeing (5s images) Craig said there are still some major issues with the focus script for SPIcam that need resolution and he would be working on that. Focus was functional but needed lots of overhead. Zero'ed the rotator (0.011) Created New DIS mask files for 0.9, 2.0, 1.5 slits in filter wheel DIS header tests (data in /export/images/Q2APO/UT070601/DIS_header_test) B400/R300 (4400A/7600A) 5 - 12s Brt. Qrtz flats (cov closed) 1 - 60s He (cov closed) 1 - 30s Ne (cov closed) 1 - 90s Ar (cov closed) 5 - bias 1 - 15s Feige 66 (1.5 arc sec slit) 1 - 15s Feige 66 (slitless) (forgot to focus, but Russet should be able to test if she can process the data). Focus was set to +58, best focus was +27 I did an 80 point model and implemented the new model. I then gave the remainder of the night to AGILE. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 23:15 DISslit 27(420) -83 60 15.1 15.2 14.6 15.2 15.1 -- 1.6 23:21 NA2gdr -9249(27750) -84 60 14.8 15.1 14.7 15.2 15.0 R 2.1 01:55 AGILE 125(820) 328 25 14.6 14.3 13.9 14.4 14.4 BG40 1.8 01:56 NA2gdr 3489(39489) 328 25 14.6 14.3 14.0 14.5 14.4 R 1.3 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions --------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:00 65 22 17 252 (WSW) 1037 clear none 19:00 63 21 15 250 (WSW) 697 clear none 20:00 61 21 14 261 (W) 737 clear none 21:00 58 20 12 260 (W) 641 clear none 22:00 60 19 16 297 (WNW) 651 clear none 23:00 60 20 15 301 (WNW) 680 clear none 00:00 58 20 9 296 (WNW) 615 clear none 01:00 58 15 18 296 (WNW) 720 clear none 02:00 59 20 12 269 (W) 754 clear none 03:00 57 18 12 286 (WNW) 783 clear none 04:00 57 15 10 280 (W) 773 clear none 05:00 56 16 8 273 (W) 786 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
