Starting the nubs and power cycling did not help. I could not get a positive ping. I called Fritz and he suggested it may be related to the rotator position. We moved the rotator and yes, in fact, connections were restored. Unfortunately the observing program required the particular rotator position where we were having problem. They decided to limit exposures to 5 minutes and continue without guiding until we moved out of the bad region (which seems to be around -150). This is the same issue that happened April 25th (see that nightlog). Az motor over-current 12:25. Took about 3 mins to recover and the exposure was lost. GFP was left mounted. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CU01 G T/H 11:45 12:05 NA2 guider lost connection CU01 G T/H 12:25 12:28 Az motor overcurrent ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------- 22:25 GFP 200(629) 192 51 10.9 12.9 11.8 12.0 11.3 O3 1.0 23:35 GFP 125(512) 204 41 10.1 10.5 10.2 10.6 10.2 O3 1.0 01:55 FastCam -35(1350) 280 69 11.5 10.1 9.6 10.2 10.5 -- 1.0 02:30 GFP 150(545) 350 32 10.8 10.2 9.8 10.4 10.3 O1 1.2 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 57 39 6 188 (S) 431 ptly cldy none 17:00 61 41 10 204 (SSW) 461 ptly cldy none 18:00 61 39 8 218 (SW) 406 ptly cldy none 19:00 57 37 11 205 (SSW) 405 ptly cldy none 20:00 53 35 9 176 (S) 389 ptly cldy none 21:00 52 34 14 149 (SSE) 415 ptly cldy none 22:00 52 34 15 137 (SE) 461 ptly cldy none 23:00 51 34 9 116 (ESE) 463 ptly cldy none 00:00 51 35 10 110 (ESE) 486 ptly cldy none 01:00 51 34 5 123 (ESE) 499 ptly cldy none 02:00 53 30 4 248 (WSW) 456 ptly cldy none 03:00 52 32 2 158 (SSE) 512 ptly cldy none 04:00 52 29 6 189 (S) 503 ptly cldy none 05:00 50 31 3 132 (SE) 472 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
