Since the weather was moving in from the East, the radar somewhat untrustworthy. It seemed to be clearing after midnight. I opened at 12:40 with wispy cirrus here and there, but a clear radar. At 5:15am we closed since humidity was over 85% and winds were hovering around the limit. Apparently, DIS ICC lost connection. It was not on tonight but Jon Brinkmann was getting emails about it, and tcc could not connect. I logged into the icc and issued a dis start, restarted the nub, did an init and all seemed fine. The NA2 guider “works” in as much as it will take images, but the images are not normal. They seem to have a residual light/dark triangle pattern that does not clear with a restart of connections or power cycle. All TUI’s crashed about 03:20am (my on-site observer’s as well as my own). I repeatedly tried to connect, getting an error saying “connection refused”. Called Fritz Stauffer and he discovered the file system on 35m was filled up. He quickly resolved the issue and we got back online in about 20 minutes. NIC-FPS was left mounted for 1st-half observers tonight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CU04 N T/S 03:20 03:40 35m file system full ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------- 01:15 NICFPS -75(553) 340 67 8.4 8.3 7.5 8.5 8.2 Ks 1.1 01:15 NICFPS -75(520) 179 75 7.4 7.5 7.2 7.8 7.3 Ks 0.7 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 54 27 6 89 (E) 665 ptly cldy none 17:00 54 28 8 98 (E) 625 mstly clr none 18:00 53 28 13 66 (ENE) 695 ptly cldy none 19:00 52 30 14 56 (NE) 801 ptly cldy none 20:00 50 30 22 81 (E) 810 mstly clr none 21:00 50 27 20 74 (ENE) 852 ptly cldy none 22:00 47 30 21 63 (ENE) 905 ptly cldy none 23:00 47 28 10 87 (E) 873 mstly clr none 00:00 46 30 26 74 (ENE) 1033 mstly clr none 01:00 47 30 27 74 (ENE) 1102 clear none 02:00 46 32 24 75 (ENE) 1144 clear none 03:00 45 34 20 83 (E) 1181 clear none 04:00 43 36 23 81 (E) 1150 clear none 05:00 44 38 29 73 (ENE) 1213 clear humid Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
