The delay made the first hour of scheduled engineering time impractical. So, we just moved on to science. We opened although we were battling clouds all night. Data collection was poor at best. Closed at 2:20am after fighting an overcast sky for a few hours. Conditions only worsened after that. Satellite showed a large mass of thick clouds coming up from Mexico. Called it a night at 5am. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------- 21:45 SPIcam -15(221) -22 55 7.6 7.6 6.5 7.2 7.5 R 1.0 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 50 11 12 232 (SW) 913 ptly cldy none 17:00 48 11 14 209 (SSW) 943 mstly cldy none 18:00 49 15 17 225 (SW) 999 mstly cldy none 19:00 46 16 12 187 (S) 948 cloudy none 20:00 43 15 12 208 (SSW) 951 mstly cldy none 21:00 46 10 20 209 (SSW) 1038 mstly cldy none 22:00 45 11 20 217 (SW) 1088 ptly cldy none 23:00 44 12 20 231 (SW) 1183 ptly cldy none 00:00 45 14 20 218 (SW) 1277 ptly cldy none 01:00 45 14 23 217 (SW) 1470 ptly cldy none 02:00 44 14 19 248 (WSW) 1405 cloudy none 03:00 44 13 21 238 (WSW) 1007 cloudy none 04:00 42 14 16 245 (WSW) 1169 cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
