The observer was doing 30s integrations and it looked like somebody was shining a lamp on the telescope, but it was dark in the dome. I started some 3 sec exposures and the problem went away in the first couple of frames. Problem occured around 04:18 local time. Didn't re-occur for the remainder of the night. When I went up to put the telescope to bed the S-H eyelid didn't close completely (about 2/3 of the way). I manually closed it. I also noticed that the lower right latch (facing rotator) was not engaged. Russet mounted the instrument Tuesday afternoon and perhaps she missed one, but it should be fit checked to see if the latch is too loose. The instrument was not dis-mouted yesterday. Seeing was ok for the first half and relatively poor for the 2nd (2 arc sec). ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:12 DISslit -50(112) 158 65 8.6 10.7 9.6 9.6 8.4 -- 1.3 20:21 NA2gdr 948(22948) 161 65 8.5 10.4 9.3 9.2 8.3 R 0.95 00:57 DISslit -17(94) 309 60 8.4 8.1 7.4 8.0 8.3 -- 2.0 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions --------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 55 17 18 267 (W) 1133 Lt.
