Most of the half it was under six tenths of an arcsecond. Right at the start of the second half a warm dry mass of air moved into the area and seeing degraded for much of second half. It was rather unstable because the telescope temperatures just could not keep up with the rapidly changing air temp or the wildly varying wind directional changes. Seeing was moderate at best to very poor until the end of the night when conditions calmed and the seeing again dropped into the subarcsecond regime. No other problems tonight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:21 SPIcam -30(-21) 64 68 2.7 2.1 1.2 1.6 2.3 r 0.7 20:31 NA2gdr -231(31868) 63 71 2.9 2.1 1.3 1.7 2.3 R+nd2 0.67 21:06 SPIcam -60(-44) 22 64 2.0 1.9 1.3 1.6 1.7 r 0.57 01:05 SPIcam -75(-92) -55 64 1.9 1.1 0.6 0.9 1.6 r 0.91 03:38 SPIcam 60(117) 11 58 7.6 2.6 2.3 2.6 5.0 r 1.48 05:43 SPIcam 10(69) -133 66 4.2 3.6 3.1 2.8 3.8 r 0.79 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 38 28 7 298 (WNW) 305 clear none 17:00 40 28 2 254 (WSW) 264 clear none 18:00 38 22 1 338 (NNW) 331 clear none 19:00 36 22 1 121 (ESE) 307 clear none 20:00 34 11 7 65 (ENE) 270 clear none 21:00 36 0 4 357 (N) 151 clear none 22:00 36 16 8 338 (NNW) 232 clear none 23:00 35 18 11 327 (NNW) 357 clear none 00:00 34 19 2 221 (SW) 215 clear none 01:00 35 14 4 278 (W) 352 clear none 02:00 36 11 6 277 (W) 376 clear none 03:00 43 9 5 265 (W) 543 clear none 04:00 45 -3 7 184 (S) 802 clear none 05:00 41 4 8 172 (S) 752 clear none 06:00 41 0 10 179 (S) 1023 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
