They dropped enough that we were able to get on sky by 20:15. Around 21:00 the echelle slitviewer crashed but I was able to recover in under a few minutes. 2nd half Observing Specialist: R.McMillan There were some difficulties with APOLLO, but we did get returns despite poor seeing. After that, the echelle work went very smoothly. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:23 Echelle -185(-1114) 248 65 -0.9 1.9 2.9 1.6 -0.5 nd2 2.7 22:13 Echelle -201(-1255) 208 67 -2.3 -1.6 -1.3 -1.5 -2.2 nd1 2.8 01:02 Echelle -108(-1279) -54 62 -4.7 -4.35 -4.43 -4.55 -4.62 nd2 1.8 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 44 18 29 267 (W) 6428 mstly clr none 17:00 39 17 31 277 (W) 6390 mstly clr none 18:00 38 14 19 271 (W) 7933 clear none 19:00 33 6 11 272 (W) 6236 clear none 20:00 31 -6 19 264 (W) 2508 clear none 21:00 29 -8 14 268 (W) 1665 clear none 22:00 28 -6 16 269 (W) 1173 clear none 23:00 28 -3 19 290 (WNW) 1017 clear none 00:00 25 -1 24 290 (WNW) 1101 clear none 01:00 24 2 20 300 (WNW) 1276 clear none 02:00 23 2 8 309 (NW) 1086 clear none 03:00 24 -3 15 261 (W) 967 clear none 04:00 23 -1 17 308 (NW) 962 clear none 05:00 23 0 11 270 (W) 880 clear none 06:00 21 2 9 304 (NW) 1167 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
