NA2 guider crashed around 22:40, had to be power-cycled. 2nd half Observing Specialist: R.McMillan Seeing was still quite variable when we focused for second half. There was an oddity when the Argon lamp claimed to be off (even after tlamps status) but was demonstrably still on; I turned it "on" and then off from my own TUI, and that worked. Clouds started to move in around 02:30. We stayed open through the first wave, but the second wave had some faint radar echoes associated with it, so I closed then. Clouds continued to come and go and radar echoes near our blind spot continued to taunt us for a while, but we managed to open in time for one last exposure before twilight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:50 SPIcam -45(61) 27 54 2.5 5.9 4.8 3.9 3.5 r 1.0 20:50 SPIcam -215(-136) 22 55 3.3 4.2 2.9 3.1 3.0 i 1.0 21:50 SPIcam -35(60) -8 60 5.5 4.2 3.1 4.1 5.1 i 1.2 01:12 DISslit -91(-220) 148 68 4.9 3.43 2.78 3.33 4.09 - 1.4 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 44 21 10 268 (W) 157 mstly clr none 17:00 44 31 8 190 (S) 193 clear none 18:00 44 31 10 251 (WSW) 168 clear none 19:00 39 24 4 269 (W) 170 clear none 20:00 35 23 5 251 (WSW) 216 clear none 21:00 39 7 4 190 (S) 233 clear none 22:00 41 -7 10 203 (SSW) 257 clear none 23:00 37 8 7 143 (SE) 288 clear none 00:00 38 6 1 156 (SSE) 368 clear none 01:00 42 12 9 215 (SW) 345 clear none 02:00 40 14 7 266 (W) 379 clear none 03:00 40 14 5 204 (SSW) 388 ptly cldy none 04:00 39 15 6 298 (WNW) 426 ptly cldy none 05:00 39 16 5 12 (NNE) 404 ptly cldy none 06:00 38 14 3 351 (N) 379 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
