Second half at exactly 2am, the hub apparently crashed. All TUI connections were lost and reconnection was refused by the server. I made certain that all the important machines were still operating. I called Fritz for assistance. Apparently the disk /export/images had filled up. Fritz made some room and restarted the hub. Thankyou Fritz. The observers 15 minute exposure leading up to the disk problem was lost and the 20 minutes to correct the problem was counted as equipment loss. At 04:15 the clouds became too thick to get any useful data. By 04:45 the skies cleared significantly. My observer was not answering messages sent through TUI or answering his cell phone. At 05:00, I turned the telescope over to Russet for some engineering before APOLLO. Finisher upper: R.McMillan I got in a short test of tertiary behavior at NA2, then tried a test of tertiary behavior at NA1, but had trouble finding a star. Time was limited, so I gave that up and switched over to APOLLO. Despite clouds coming and going, we got returns from two reflectors, including the elusive Russian reflector -- pretty good under the conditions! ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- NM05 D I/H 01:45 02:20 Disk out of space, crashed hub ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:41 dis-slit -138(-136) 125 70 4.4 6.5 4.8 5.3 4.5 - 0.9 19:58 dis-slit -92(-61) -47 28 4.6 4.8 4.0 4.7 4.4 - 1.5 01:22 dis-slit 156(114) -94 70 4.8 4.4 3.9 4.2 4.6 - 1.2 05:35 APOLLO -25 1.2 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 15:58 42 13 ?? 144 ptly cldy none 16:58 40 17 ?? 175 ptly cldy none 17:58 39 14 ?? 160 ptly cldy none 18:58 40 17 ?? 127 ptly cldy none 19:58 40 20 ?? 170 mstly clr none 20:58 40 21 ?? 180 clear none 21:58 40 20 ?? 159 clear none 22:58 40 20 ?? 202 clear none 23:58 40 20 ?? 257 clear none 00:58 41 21 ?? 238 ptly cldy none 01:58 40 20 ?? 188 ptly cldy none 02:58 39 20 ?? 190 ptly cldy none 03:58 39 20 ?? 174 cloudy none 04:58 39 24 ?? 193 mstly clr none 05:58 40 19 ?? 163 ptly cldy none The convention used is north=0 degrees, east=90 degrees.
