I didn't see any slew commands go thru the TCC and it was pretty windy. Sloan was reporting gusts to 35MPH off their telescope pier, they were open as well. We took the handheld anomometer up to the catwalk (after closing) and, although difficult to guage, we were getting 25-30 MPH gusts holding the anomometer over the edge and about 40 MPH wind whipping around the corners of the building (although I would take that higher reading as suspect since we were right next to the building and corners). It was very breezy when the dome was open though and we were pointed almost directly into the wind. The Dataq was showing the mirror load cells jumping all over. I did some test slews (after closing and all seemed fine). We re-opened a little after 1AM. No problems (other than medeocre seeing). ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:12 NICFPS 34(479) 131 79 3.4 5.0 4.3 3.8 3.4 Ks 1.4 19:04 NICFPS -175(231) 196 83 2.7 3.6 3.0 2.9 2.5 Ks 1.2 20:37 NICFPS -70(336) 0 48 2.4 2.5 2.0 2.3 2.3 Ks 1.2 22:32 APOLLO -20(664) -85 65 2.8 2.5 1.7 2.1 2.7 -- 1.2 01:24 Echelle -57(-993) 275 53 1.4 1.6 0.9 1.3 1.4 ND3 1.8 03:00 Echelle -50(-981) 52 32 0.9 1.1 0.5 0.7 1.0 ND3 2.2 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 15:55 45 13 5 279 (W) 314 clear none 16:55 43 14 4 284 (WNW) 265 clear none 17:55 39 15 482 clear none 18:55 37 14 644 clear none 19:55 37 14 516 clear none 20:55 36 14 395 clear none 21:55 37 10 256 clear none 22:55 37 9 250 clear none 23:55 37 5 264 clear none 00:55 36 10 250 clear none 01:55 34 10 243 clear none 02:55 34 9 145 clear none 03:55 32 11 130 clear none 04:55 33 11 125 clear none 05:55 32 12 163 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
