It's springtime in the Desert Southwest. Jon B. worked on getting the data from our new anomometer working tonight. Unfortunately where it is mounted on the Ops building roof is not a good location for it (blocked by the trees too much). Elana reported winds over 35-50MPH and the new anomometer was only reporting maybe 18-20 winds or less. This wasn't too suprising since the wind was coming out of the west and we have a lot of trees blocking us from that direction. Even the Sloan enclosure was reporting speeds up to 40 MPH (with the enclosure closed). We normally don't see much from that with the building closed. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 15:56 41 9 4202 clear dust 16:56 39 6 5362 clear dust 17:56 34 10 3220 clear dust 18:56 31 13 5311 clear dust 19:56 30 14 6 23 (NNE) 1246 cldy none 20:56 25 23 12 258 (WSW) 8731 cldy dust 21:56 23 21 15 246 (WSW) 1601 cldy none 22:56 19 18 1367 cldy none 23:56 18 3 17 270 (W) 1921 cldy none 00:56 17 7 12 252 (WSW) 1790 cldy none 01:56 15 10 14 264 (W) 1286 cldy none 02:56 14 9 13 270 (W) 779 cldy none 03:56 13 8 8 252 (WSW) 1479 cldy none 04:56 12 7 10 254 (WSW) 1535 cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
