Some networking problems delayed calibrations for a bit, but things were cleared up before sunset. Very unusual setup for second half: non-standard grating, special requested cal lamp installed in truss, and specially populated filter wheel. With everything installed, calibrated and seeming to be working, we checked the multislit with the mirror in. The multislit and other filters (everything except the 1.5 slit) were rotated to the instrument, only the single slit had the correct orientation. After some investigation, including taking the filter wheel out several times and confirming all is moving correctly, I can only conclude that the wheel was just not mounted properly. We lost about an hour to this alone, coupled with all the calibrations needed for this setup we did not get on sky until 3am. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 15:56 46 6 ?? 91 clear none 16:56 50 -7 ?? 64 clear none 17:56 44 8 ?? 119 clear none 18:56 43 -4 ?? 123 clear none 19:56 42 -1 ?? 104 clear none 20:56 44 -2 ?? 127 clear none 21:56 44 -9 ?? 82 clear none 22:56 45 -8 ?? 64 clear none 23:56 44 -4 ?? 79 clear none 00:56 43 -1 ?? 86 clear none 01:56 42 0 ?? 55 clear none 02:56 43 -3 ?? 17 clear none 03:56 42 0 ?? 46 clear none 04:56 42 -1 ?? 21 clear none 05:56 42 -3 ?? 41 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
