Secondary seemed to be stuck. Image quality good so I let the observer continue for a while before trying to fix. 22:30 Too cloudy to get good data. Tried to move secondary several times but would not move. Called Russet. She tried to home secondary but actuator D did not find limit switch. 23:45 Closed due to overcast skies and radar returns. 23:50 Called Nick he suggested homing the secondary at high altitude (>80). This worked. We were still closed due to weather. Rest of second half we had light snow briefly, high winds, overcast skies and nearby radar activity. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- UC01 S T/H 22:30 00:10 Secondary act D stuck ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 37 25 7 185 (S) 458 ptly cldy none 17:00 34 28 15 148 (SSE) 612 ptly cldy humid 18:00 33 30 15 162 (SSE) 734 cloudy humid 19:00 33 27 17 169 (S) 682 ptly cldy none 20:00 35 22 22 180 (S) 510 mstly clr none 21:00 37 22 20 199 (SSW) 329 mstly clr none 22:00 37 25 21 187 (S) 444 mstly cldy none 23:00 36 27 17 169 (S) 517 cloudy none 00:00 37 25 28 180 (S) 439 cloudy none 01:00 37 27 15 167 (SSE) 449 cloudy lt snow 02:00 37 27 16 199 (SSW) 477 cloudy none 03:00 36 28 21 159 (SSE) 434 cloudy none 04:00 35 29 18 139 (SE) 551 cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
