Conditions improved enough by 21:00 to open. Humidity hovered just under the limit for the next few hours, but the sky was clear. We had moderate to poor seeing all night, at times quite variable. While closing I could not get the mirror covers to close in auto or manual at any altitude. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------- 21:17 dis-slit -250(-1101) 149 65 -14.1 -11.4 -10.1 -13.0 -13.5 2.20 23:15 dis-slit 12( -990) 105 63 -14.8 -14.4 -13.7 -14.9 -14.7 1.50 00:17 ECHELLE 30(-1802) -20 71 -15.0 -14.9 -14.3 -15.3 -15.0 1.40 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 11 7 22 256 (WSW) 3753 cloudy lt snow 17:00 10 9 24 279 (W) 794 cloudy humid 18:00 9 7 31 291 (WNW) 602 mstly clr humid 19:00 9 6 19 283 (WNW) 419 mstly clr humid 20:00 8 0 13 324 (NW) 370 mstly clr none 21:00 7 1 17 343 (NNW) 337 clear none 22:00 6 0 21 331 (NNW) 297 clear none 23:00 6 0 9 17 (NNE) 304 clear none 00:00 5 1 18 337 (NNW) 360 clear none 01:00 5 0 13 341 (NNW) 297 clear none 02:00 5 0 7 2 (N) 321 clear none 03:00 8 -10 22 328 (NNW) 129 clear none 04:00 10 -24 26 329 (NNW) 117 clear none 05:00 11 -33 17 330 (NNW) 85 clear none 06:00 13 -34 20 322 (NW) 49 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
