Second half had a few hours of clear sky and borderline conditions, but there was enough wind that I was concerned about snow blowing down from the roof of the dome, so I stayed closed. Aside from enjoying a nice Christmas dinner, I took darks to accompany last night's Agile data, did some tests of velocity scales at different azimuths, and re-analyzed last night's pointing model data. The results seem to show that something is slightly off with the azimuth drive system, which we've known for a couple of weeks -- but it's too subtle to have a real impact on science yet. We'll be keeping an eye on it. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions --------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 29 8 25 244 (WSW) 696 mstly cldy none 17:00 26 6 22 270 (W) 7086 mstly cldy dust 18:00 24 10 24 270 (W) 3997 cloudy dust 19:00 20 20 12 344 (NNW) 6847 cloudy humid 20:00 19 18 15 4 (N) 2951 cloudy lt snow 21:00 17 16 19 360 (N) 1878 cloudy lt snow 22:00 18 15 21 42 (NE) 293 cloudy lt snow 23:00 18 14 21 22 (NNE) 339 cloudy humid 00:00 15 12 19 47 (NE) 256 mstly cldy humid 01:00 14 11 14 56 (NE) 277 mstly cldy humid 02:00 18 8 11 22 (NNE) 268 mstly clr none 03:00 16 9 2 188 (S) 244 mstly clr none 04:00 16 9 2 246 (WSW) 252 mstly clr none 05:00 15 10 7 289 (WNW) 245 mstly clr humid Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
