Elevated dewpoint depression keep us closed for the start of the night and then forced us to close for about 30 minutes within an hour of opening. We found the louvers to be frozen shut. We attempted to open them in auto and manual modes but the linkages would only move a short distance before stopping. Started training of Jeff tonight. No other problems tonight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CU04 N T/H --:-- --:-- Louvers frozen shut ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------- 18:45 NICFPS -106( 22) 46 73 -5.9 -4.0 -4.6 -5.1 -5.7 Ks 0.70 19:32 NICFPS -61( 56) -17 45 -5.8 -4.8 -4.7 -6.6 -5.8 H 0.80 19:35 NA2gdr -2117(40883) -18 45 -5.8 -4.9 -4.7 -6.6 -5.8 clear 0.78 20:56 NICFPS -57( 18) -20 56 -5.3 -5.5 -5.1 -6.2 -5.7 H 0.90 22:07 dis-slit -95( -523) 34 58 -4.2 -5.5 -5.0 -5.9 -5.0 - 1.10 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 23 18 8 302 (WNW) 241 clear humid 17:00 22 20 2 276 (W) 246 clear humid 18:00 23 10 4 328 (NNW) 155 clear none 19:00 21 17 9 354 (N) 156 clear humid 20:00 21 17 10 17 (NNE) 136 clear humid 21:00 22 14 9 21 (NNE) 89 clear none 22:00 23 2 13 12 (NNE) 156 clear none 23:00 23 3 9 348 (NNW) 65 clear none 00:00 24 -1 12 14 (NNE) 114 clear none 01:00 23 -5 13 9 (N) 162 clear none 02:00 28 -12 5 31 (NNE) 43 clear none 03:00 31 -14 6 344 (NNW) 61 clear none 04:00 27 -7 8 22 (NNE) 86 clear none 05:00 32 -14 8 347 (NNW) 87 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
