This beta version appears to have fixed a memory leadk (on the Mac). We had problem with NICFPS when we switched to it at 03:00. See images /export/images/Q4APO/UT071108/nfocus.0024 thru 00.30 image 24 - 5s exp FS=8 Image 25 - issued 'nicfps expose init' Image 26 - rebooted ICS Image 27 - reset Leech Controller/rebooted ICS remainder of images were various incantations of 'hub startNubs nicfps', 'nicfps expose init', and 'hub startNubs nicfpsExpose', and restarting the ICS/ After image 26 the NICFPS expose failed to complete readout (it showed it was taking the exposure and then hung after it finished the read) Somehow I got it to work again after a couple tries. I spent about 25 mins getting NICFPS going again. We didn't notice any background increase in the science exposures after the problem. I also noticed that the NICFPS image is mirrored around the Y axis (N-up, E-right instead of N-up E-left) ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JH04 N I/H 03:00 03:25 Strange stripes on NICFPS images, rebooted ICS/Leech controller. ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:29 DISslit -9(307) 81 74 9.6 12.0 11.0 10.6 9.9 -- 1.0 00:13 SPIcam -52(307) 116 40 9.4 8.9 9.3 8.0 8.0 B 1.9 03:27 NICFPS -71(589) 122 76 9.1 8.5 8.9 7.6 8.4 Z 0.8 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions --------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 51 22 4 338 (NNW) 1846 cirrus none 17:00 50 22 9 0 (N) 1786 cirrus none 18:00 49 22 16 9 (N) 1721 cirrus none 19:00 50 17 17 29 (NNE) 1218 cirrus none 20:00 51 21 20 18 (NNE) 1488 cirrus none 21:00 50 20 12 7 (N) 1462 cirrus none 22:00 50 19 12 11 (N) 1207 clear none 23:00 49 20 8 18 (NNE) 1160 clear none 00:00 48 20 4 12 (NNE) 1335 clear none 01:00 49 20 10 355 (N) 1230 clear none 02:00 49 20 10 1 (N) 1260 clear none 03:00 48 20 0 36 (NE) 1374 clear none 04:00 48 21 7 347 (NNW) 1470 lt. cirrus none 05:00 48 22 4 5 (N) 1536 lt. cirrus none 06:00 47 24 6 360 (N) 1983 lt. cirrus none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
