After reboot, it would not allow logins. Fritz discovered the external hard drive needed a power-cycle as well. 21:35 DIS slitviewer needed a nubs restart. At 1:30 and again at 4:30, SPICAM images looked a little elongated in the Az direction, not trailing but elongated. The NA2 guider seemed to be fine; image quality was good and guiding was not struggling. There was little wind to speak of and we had recently focused. These images were on the same object. This seemed to be caused by the astigmatism seen when the focus value is too high. Consistently, the focus script calculated a focus value that was about 50 microns too high. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------- 20:28 dis-slit -124(119) -26 54 9.4 10.0 9.7 8.4 8.9 0.9 01:28 SPICAM -77(255) 44 53 8.6 8.6 9.0 7.6 8.3 0.6 05:52 SPICAM -60(271) -62 42 8.9 8.2 8.7 7.2 8.2 1.0 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 53 28 4 218 (SW) 2377 mstly clr none 17:00 54 28 7 198 (SSW) 2273 mstly clr none 18:00 49 28 1 177 (S) 2305 mstly clr none 19:00 50 19 2 2 (N) 2116 mstly clr none 20:00 49 26 0 352 (N) 2083 mstly clr none 21:00 50 16 1 232 (SW) 677 mstly clr none 22:00 51 17 3 256 (WSW) 1190 mstly clr none 23:00 49 18 5 180 (S) 1022 clear none 00:00 48 16 5 180 (S) 832 clear none 01:00 48 15 3 177 (S) 650 clear none 01:00 48 18 6 180 (S) 1120 clear none 02:00 48 21 8 218 (SW) 1304 clear none 03:00 48 22 6 190 (S) 1297 clear none 04:00 48 28 1 242 (WSW) 1550 clear none 05:00 48 27 2 256 (WSW) 1823 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
