Although I have noted this in the Failure Log below no downtime was counted because it was outside the normal scheduled observing time. Skies were too cloudy for Lunar ranging. APOLLO used their time for in dome testing. The tertiary move from na2 to bc1 had no errors. The move from bc1 to na2 failed. A rehome of the tertiary rotation was done and it appeared that the mirror over shot na2 during this home. A move to na2 was then successful. The UVa group then observered for several hours at na2 before requesting a switch to the echelle. The tertiary move from na2 to na1 again failed with a CORRPOS error. I then fought for 45 minutes to get the tertiary to position properly after homes at na2 (or other ports). I was finally able to get the system to be happy with a homing, then a move to na2 and a successful move to na1. We used the echelle for the last hour of first half. The move from na1 to na2 for Agile observations failed again however this time a homing and move to na2 worked fine. This is where the tertiary sat for the remainder of the night. We got enough of a break in the clouds at the beginning of second half to fix the Agile instrument block (oldagile) for the instrument with no focal reducer. The remainder of the second half was unusable for the faint targets they had planned. Anjum used the time to get some instrument characterization done. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- UV01 S T/H 15:30 15:45 M3 rotation failed.
