Everything behaved reasonably well; NICFPS images were 0 at start, but cleared with a single "nicfps expose init". DIS slitviewer shutter gave a little trouble at start, but was fine after being exercised a little. One very minor problem cropped up involving indexing of the latest slitviewer image. During second half, the seeing continued poor for several hours and then improved sometime around 03:30. Wind gusts just reached the closure limit a few times, but didn't persist; image quality and dataq said the telescope was fine, so I stayed open. For one series of strong winds I did ask the observer to move to a target at a different azimuth, and that worked fine. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:45 DISslit 0(-217) 134 41 -2.4 -0.51 -1.33 -1.36 -1.8 - 2.0 21:40 DISslit -100(-318) 138 71 1.5 0.25 -1.14 -0.31 1.2 - 1.5 00:15 NICFPS 20(348) 74 53 2.3 1.25 0.37 0.43 1.7 J 1.6 03:41 NICFPS J 0.87 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:02 31 -1 4 70 (ENE) 196 clear none 17:02 30 -12 3 341 (NNW) 213 clear none 18:02 28 -16 14 20 (NNE) 212 clear none 19:02 26 -8 12 4 (N) 234 clear none 20:02 27 -3 24 20 (NNE) 248 clear none 21:02 34 -9 11 348 (NNW) 158 clear none 22:02 34 -9 25 9 (N) 120 clear none 23:02 36 -5 7 15 (NNE) 119 clear none 00:02 35 1 18 4 (N) 223 clear none 01:02 35 2 21 16 (NNE) 175 clear none 02:02 34 2 21 42 (NE) 219 clear none 03:02 31 4 21 4 (N) 258 clear none 04:02 36 -3 21 26 (NNE) 395 clear none 05:02 37 0 23 17 (NNE) 403 clear none 06:02 38 1 34 20 (NNE) 351 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
