We even opened a little before 12 degree twilight. Some thin clouds here and there, and the humidity rose a few times, but other than that it was a very productive 1st half. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: R.McMillan Second half remained clear with moderate seeing. Humidity dropped and the air was warmer than it has been for the past week or so. Everything worked smoothly except for a rotator overcurrent which was recovered in less than 3 minutes without messing up the image in progress. There was also a brief guiding anomaly which cost no observing time but may provide a useful clue for tracking down an intermittent bug. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:56 DISslit -250(-109) 128 44 11.0 14.5 - 1.1 21:22 DISslit 0(23) 143 52 11.4 12.2 - 1.0 22:41 DISslit -50(-49) 129 44 10.9 11.4 - 1.2 01:15 DISslit 75(40) 209 48 11.4 11.1 10.7 11.4 11.3 - 1.2 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 63 44 8 194 (SSW) 338 clear none 17:00 61 42 10 270 (W) 383 clear none 18:00 59 42 4 267 (W) 378 clear none 19:00 54 40 6 193 (SSW) 427 clear none 20:00 52 43 3 183 (S) 418 mstly clr none 21:00 52 44 6 185 (S) 524 mstly clr humid 22:00 51 44 7 191 (S) 557 mstly clr none 23:00 53 43 8 206 (SSW) 777 mstly clr humid 00:00 52 45 8 218 (SW) 924 clear none 01:00 53 45 9 239 (WSW) 931 clear none 02:00 53 45 9 212 (SSW) 667 clear none 03:00 53 42 5 258 (WSW) 551 clear none 04:00 53 41 6 283 (WNW) 568 clear none 05:00 52 41 8 327 (NNW) 589 clear none 06:00 52 41 2 319 (NW) 502 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
