Local radar activity until about 9pm, when the skies cleared a bit driven by high winds. Too high to open. Then around 11pm the humidity began a slow rise. The lampswitch controller lost connection/stopped working sometime after 10pm. Jon Brinkmann called to advise power-cycling the network connections in the lamps controller box. After doing this a few times we regained lamp control and temps for the structure and air. Perhaps this is the same issue that has happened the last few nights. No time was lost since we were being pummeled by winds anyway. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: J.Dembicky Rain started about 01:30, things didn't improve for the remainder of the night. I spent the time training Dave and updating some web pages (obs spec. schedules). Called it a night at 04:45 with the humidity at 100%. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 52 39 18 263 (W) 578 cloudy lt rain 17:00 47 43 18 240 (WSW) 473 cloudy none 18:00 50 40 18 236 (SW) 455 cloudy none 19:00 50 40 19 260 (W) 539 mstly cldy none 20:00 50 40 18 245 (WSW) 549 ptly cldy none 21:00 51 39 29 253 (WSW) 530 mstly clr none 22:00 51 40 32 246 (WSW) 542 mstly clr none 23:00 50 41 32 249 (WSW) 588 ptly cldy none 00:00 49 42 19 255 (WSW) 648 mstly clr none 01:00 45 45 36 264 (W) 768 cloudy rain 02:00 45 45 34 273 (W) 7617 cloudy rain 03:00 44 44 28 269 (W) 21994 cloudy rain 04:00 43 44 30 257 (WSW) 10369 cloudy fog 05:00 42 42 18 266 (W) 49497 cloudy fog Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
