Raining at sunset. Rain and/or high humidity continued rest of 1st half. Opened briefly just before end of 1st half to let observers have some experience with the telescope via the eyepiece. Humidity still above 80%. 2nd half Observing Specialist: R.McMillan Clouds thickened shortly after we mounted NIC-FPS. I decided to close the dome, and shortly after that the rain sensor went off, but I couldn't feel any rain outside, and the cloudcam didn't show any sprinkles. For the remainder of the night we either had partial clouds and high humidity, or heavy clouds and borderline humidity. We never re-opened. But it's nice to know the shutter doors still work! ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 54 49 5 95 (E) 107 cloudy rain 17:00 54 52 6 84 (E) 347 cloudy lt rain 18:00 55 54 3 107 (ESE) 382 cloudy none 19:00 53 49 20 145 (SE) 62 cloudy none 20:00 55 46 5 101 (E) 144 cloudy lt rain 21:00 55 45 3 98 (E) 59 cloudy none 22:00 54 47 15 132 (SE) 111 mstly cldy none 23:00 53 48 19 141 (SE) 145 ptly cldy humid 00:00 53 49 16 156 (SSE) 241 ptly cldy none 01:00 53 48 21 151 (SSE) 224 mstly cldy none 02:00 52 49 22 149 (SSE) 317 ptly cldy humid 03:00 53 49 20 168 (SSE) 338 mstly cldy none 04:00 53 47 17 166 (SSE) 335 cloudy none 05:00 53 48 17 158 (SSE) 462 cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
