The humidity was high and the cloud cover thick for the first half of the night. During the second half, the humidity dropped and the skies cleared around 03:30 however we were still seeing a fair amount of lightning off to our west and clouds were visible above the basin even though the radar was not picking them up. Under these conditions both the Sloanies and I decided it was rather risky to open. After an hour of clear skies the temperature dropped to meet the dewpoint and we were back to being under closure conditions. I spent the night entertaining myself with an introduction to TUI scripting. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 61 54 5 186 (S) 634 cloudy humid 17:00 64 52 8 243 (WSW) 641 cloudy humid 18:00 62 55 8 267 (W) 685 cloudy humid 19:00 61 55 9 215 (SW) 625 cloudy humid 20:00 58 51 0 286 (WNW) 652 cloudy humid 21:00 56 53 4 89 (E) 852 cloudy humid 22:00 55 52 6 117 (ESE) 740 cloudy humid 23:00 56 51 7 172 (S) 735 cloudy humid 00:00 56 52 11 132 (SE) 772 cloudy none 01:00 56 51 13 143 (SE) 741 cloudy none 02:00 56 49 14 150 (SSE) 717 cloudy none 03:00 56 48 13 178 (S) 613 ptly cldy none 04:00 55 48 12 180 (S) 850 clear none 05:00 55 49 12 200 (SSW) 739 clear humid 06:00 54 51 10 182 (S) 780 clear humid Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
