I thought for sure we were going to be able to get on sky on time tonight, but no. Raining, fog or high humidity continued for the rest of the first half. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: R.McMillan Second half was rather odd. The rain cleared off very suddenly, but there were still radar traces nearby. The dewpoint sensor said the humidity had dropped, but that didn't agree with the PT dewpoint sensor, the handheld thermohygrometer, or with basic olfactory observations. There were a few holes in the clouds, but not enough to be useful. In the end, the threatening radar echoes were the deciding factor and we never opened. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 57 52 1 290 (WNW) 446 mstly clr none 17:00 57 50 1 340 (NNW) 454 ptly cldy none 18:00 58 46 4 346 (NNW) 468 mstly cldy none 19:00 57 49 7 357 (N) 479 mstly clr humid 20:00 55 53 11 6 (N) 578 cloudy humid 21:00 56 53 8 318 (NW) 749 cloudy humid 22:00 56 53 8 317 (NW) 838 mstly cldy rain 23:00 55 54 10 36 (NE) 903 mstly cldy humid 00:00 52 48 16 61 (ENE) 174 cloudy lt rain 01:00 56 46 11 65 (ENE) 263 mstly cldy humid 02:00 56 47 4 1 (N) 396 mstly cldy humid 03:00 56 49 5 1 (N) 564 ptly cldy humid 04:00 57 50 7 322 (NW) 545 ptly cldy humid 05:00 57 48 7 281 (W) 575 mstly cldy humid Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
