We opened for about 40 minutes after midnight when cloud cover had thinned and the telescope was still much warmer than the dewpoint. We did close when the dewpoint split dropped to the closure limits. About 10 minutes later the fog had settled in for the remainder of the night. J.Holtzman spent much of first half characterizing the new DIS gratings throughputs and I performed grating swaps. I also spent time tonight working on a programing project. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 00:31 Echelle -157(166) 84 76 12.4/15.0 202 14 nd2 1.34 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 71 52 19 223 (SW) 1129 cloudy lt rain 17:00 72 54 12 216 (SW) 694 cloudy none 18:00 70 50 14 240 (WSW) 521 cloudy rain 19:00 60 50 9 43 (NE) 540 cloudy rain 20:00 59 50 1 221 (SW) 618 mstly cldy none 21:00 56 52 9 220 (SW) 592 mstly cldy none 22:00 59 49 8 195 (SSW) 568 mstly cldy none 23:00 55 51 5 158 (SSE) 790 mstly cldy none 00:00 57 51 18 198 (SSW) 741 ptly cldy none 02:00 52 52 20 198 (SSW) 22052 cloudy fog 03:00 52 52 13 187 (S) 16309 cloudy fog 04:00 52 53 11 197 (SSW) 27220 cloudy fog 05:00 52 52 2 225 (SW) 2279 cloudy humid Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
