The approaching lightshow was very impressive from the catwalk. Once we closed, I settled down to work on publishing a revised schedule for Q2 and a new schedule for Q3. Then we had rain, rain, glorious rain! 0.45 inches according to the COSMIC weather station, 0.6 inches by the gauge outside the control room. For a while everything smelled like wetness and ozone (100% humidity). Then it progressed to smelling like happy plants (70% humidity). At last the clouds thinned and we got a western wind that smelled like the desert (45% humidity), and I figured it was time to open again. We got a bunch of observations with CorMASS, and pointing wasn't great (neither was tracking in the face of moderate winds), but everything worked pretty much as it should. During a period of thicker clouds, we tried to take the opportunity to update the instrument block, but it made the pointing worse so we just reverted to the old values. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 03:10 cormass -125(1171) 212 36 14.2/13.8 260 10 K 0.65 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 68 39 1 182 (S) 1203 ptly cldy none 17:01 68 38 14 233 (SW) 1021 ptly cldy none 18:01 74 38 8 211 (SSW) 871 ptly cldy none 19:01 70 36 12 226 (SW) 752 ptly cldy none 20:01 62 42 13 134 (SE) 1486 ptly cldy none 21:01 61 41 21 129 (SE) 1645 mstly cldy lt rain 22:01 59 42 20 142 (SE) 1716 cloudy rain 23:01 47 48 11 308 (NW) 7697 cloudy rain 00:01 49 45 17 139 (SE) 1062 cloudy rain 01:01 51 44 10 136 (SE) 1295 cloudy none 02:01 57 39 10 224 (SW) 3103 mstly cldy none 03:01 58 37 11 244 (WSW) 1777 ptly cldy none 04:01 58 37 7 262 (W) 1739 ptly cldy none 05:01 58 37 7 265 (W) 1687 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
