Clouds thinned enough by 22:45 to open but did not stay that way long. Apparently the sucker-hole didnt last too long and we had difficulties with clouds for the remainder of the first half. The first half observer also complained several times about internet connectivity problems and an inability to autoget images. When pressed he admitted the problem was on his end with his wireless. Users are reminded that use of a public network (Internet2) can be highly unpredictable and they should observe from off campus at their own risk. Your results may differ. Second half went smoothly except for some minor problems with the slitviewer. The maskfile had inadvertantly been written out as a guide image confusing the observer why they could see no stars. It didnt take me long to correct this however in the process the slitview camera warmed a bit and objects were no longer visible in subsequent frames until it again cooled down. About 5 minutes was lost total for both problems. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- PU05 D I/S/H 02:30 02:35 dcam/dcamera glitch ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 22:57 dis-slit 97(1486) 196 47 18.1/19.5 161 18 - 1.15 00:55 dis-slit 22(1257) 195 55 16.1/16.7 171 15 - 1.87 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 71 30 0 248 (WSW) 1414 cloudy none 17:01 77 32 10 203 (SSW) 1367 cloudy none 18:01 75 30 6 185 (S) 1354 cloudy none 19:01 66 32 17 59 (ENE) 1270 cloudy lt.rain, wind 20:01 66 27 13 185 (S) 1136 cloudy none 21:01 65 28 15 146 (SE) 1196 cloudy none 22:01 66 26 13 172 (S) 1322 cloudy none 23:01 65 28 13 169 (SSE) 1185 prtly cldy none 00:01 62 24 21 151 (SSE) 1081 prtly cldy none 01:01 61 23 17 167 (SSE) 1147 prtly cldy none 02:01 63 28 13 179 (S) 1317 mstly clr none 03:01 63 28 14 191 (S) 1265 mstly clr none 04:01 62 22 12 170 (S) 944 clear none 05:01 61 23 11 181 (S) 1144 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
