Everything generally behaved well; we did have one rotator overcurrent which was resolved within a minute. A little difficulty guiding was later traced to user error (mine). Everything went so smoothly for the second half observers that they ran through their target list sooner than expected and kindly allowed me the last hour of the night for throughput measurements. I was able to get observations that should be possible to calibrate absolutely for both the old low resolution gratings (a measure of changes in the telescope) and the new blue medium grating (a measure of the new grating, and a tie to future throughput measurements for the telescope). ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:46 DISslit 50(1294) -60 57 15.9/17.0 243 11 - 1.0 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 68 26 20 268 (W) 1942 clear none 17:00 64 21 10 265 (W) 2057 clear none 18:00 68 24 14 270 (W) 2158 clear none 19:00 64 21 10 267 (W) 2259 clear none 20:00 62 19 19 265 (W) 1784 clear none 21:00 61 17 16 245 (WSW) 2006 clear none 22:00 59 16 15 267 (W) 2041 clear none 23:00 59 17 14 261 (W) 1927 clear none 00:00 58 15 17 16 (NNE) 2251 clear none 01:00 58 17 14 11 (N) 1384 clear none 02:00 57 18 12 12 (NNE) 1148 clear none 03:00 56 20 14 11 (N) 1004 clear none 04:00 56 22 17 14 (NNE) 783 clear none 05:00 56 20 14 41 (NE) 328 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
