The first attempt almost looked like it was going to work. It actually found the FWHM for the first image, the second image it couldn't find the star to centroid. I changed the centroid radius from 50 to 10, and then it couldn't find the star in the first image. The star used had about 15000 cts when viewed with IRAF, so it should have been bright enough and not saturated. I changed back to Centroid radius of 50 and it couldn't find the star. Then I examined the image and put in corrected coords, it move just slightly. I bumped the centroid radius up to 100 and it seemed much happier suddenly, well for the first 3 images, then if faild to find the star again. Arghhh... The star was starting to go into saturation. I tried a fainter star next (10k cts near focus). This one almost worked (got 4 images before it couldn't find the star). I tried another star and still no dice. It might give 3 or 4 images before it can't find the star. No problems tonight with the telescope or instruments. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:43 Echelle 127(896) 9 54 21.0/24.3 157 5 ND2 1.1 21:07 DISslit -40(1452) -5 59 20.0/23.2 132 15 none 0.77 21:13 NA2gdr -6806(22193) -8 59 20.1/23.0 127 15 R 0.70 01:04 NICFPS 125(1822) 38 52 18.1/18.2 131 17 Ks 1.0 03:15 NICFPS 275(1894) -19 57 16.8/16.5 141 15 1.64 0.86 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 18:01 74 31 2 176 (S) 1239 Mst.
