We had a little problem early in the night finding suitable guidestars for the NA2gdr. Then at 2330, a few hours on the target, we were seeing image elongation in the altitude direction not long after a refocus of the telescope. This was a clue that lead me right away to seeing we had several bad magnasenor measurements. A quick slew of the telescope to high and low altitudes took care of the problem and images remained round the remainder of the night. This afternoon, Fritz took the hard drive out of the failed tcc35m computer and placed it in the spare that we are running on now. This resolved all our pointing problems and brought us back up to date on configurations. Thanks Fritz! ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- NM03 S T/H 23:30 23:32 Magnasensor errors ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:58 SPIcam -20(1439) 104 74 17.4/19.5 229 16 r 0.96 21:02 NA2gdr -3438(31661)106 72 17.6/19.4 252 13 R+nd2 0.72 22:30 SPIcam -45(1341) 223 83 17.5/18.0 274 10 r 0.93 23:13 SPIcam 25(1401) 253 75 17.4/17.6 276 11 r 0.9 23:16 NA2gdr -3500(29500)254 74 17.5/17.6 274 8 R 0.82 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 76 32 9 264 (W) 1208 clear none 17:01 74 27 13 220 (SW) 1381 clear none 18:01 73 29 18 251 (WSW) 1688 clear none 19:01 71 27 18 229 (SW) 1452 clear none 20:01 66 22 9 244 (WSW) 1178 clear none 21:01 64 20 12 251 (WSW) 1281 clear none 22:01 63 19 8 278 (W) 1297 clear none 23:01 63 20 6 265 (W) 1255 clear none 00:01 62 18 4 138 (SE) 1487 clear none 01:01 58 29 16 127 (SE) 2102 clear none 02:01 57 30 12 150 (SSE) 2040 clear none 03:01 57 25 10 157 (SSE) 2038 clear none 04:01 57 16 14 176 (S) 1793 clear none 05:01 59 16 7 193 (SSW) 1273 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
