Connectivity was more stable but was still painfully slow. At the start of the night I tested spicam without trouble however when my user attempted to connect at the start of twilight the icc could not connect to the camera. Thanks to J.Brinkmans help the problem was tracked down to a poor serial line connection in the computer room. The rest of first half went smoothly. At the start of second half the observer took some cals and we focused, then while attempting to slew to the first target we were getting strange errors from TUI about the the slew failing. I was able to track the problem down rather quickly to a failure of the computer tcc35m. After trying to reboot it with no luck, I called Fritz and with his help I was able to hot swap it with the spare. Of course the space didnt have the most recent version of the tcc on it so pointing was off a fair amount for the first slew but a track /pterr corrected it for the remainder of the night. No other problems for the night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- CU03 S I/H 19:45 20:15 Camera would not connect to icc UC01 D T/H 01:30 02:30 tcc35m cpu died, replaced ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:56 SPIcam 60(1372) 149 50 15.5/18.0 219 10 r 1.15 21:25 NA2gdr -3500(27600) 18 60 15.3/17.2 234 7 R+nd3 1.17 23:21 SPIcam 90(1219) -9 62 15.2/14.8 205 7 r 1.2 00:15 SPIcam 120(1235) -21 59 15.1/14.3 242 7 r 0.9 01:20 dis-slit 20(1084) -16 78 14.9/13.9 241 6 - 1.24 02:25 dis-slit 20(1284) 69 22 15.1/13.4 221 7 - 1.42 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 71 26 9 251 (WSW) 1268 clear none 17:01 70 26 14 243 (WSW) 1076 clear none 18:01 66 22 4 276 (W) 1068 clear none 19:01 68 24 5 261 (W) 1024 clear none 20:01 61 17 7 240 (WSW) 1108 clear none 21:01 59 17 7 259 (W) 1224 clear none 22:01 60 17 5 179 (S) 1238 clear none 23:01 59 16 6 191 (S) 1189 clear none 00:01 59 16 4 239 (WSW) 1331 clear none 01:01 59 16 8 231 (SW) 1858 clear none 02:01 58 15 4 260 (W) 1206 clear none 03:01 60 17 6 222 (SW) 951 clear none 04:01 61 17 4 179 (S) 665 clear none 05:01 61 16 0 126 (SE) 470 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
