Then the edge of the system passed again in the other direction and we got some more observing done, this time with good seeing. The echelle slitviewer needed to be rebooted twice -- once (software reboot) at the very beginning of the night and once (power cycle by means of unplugging) during observing, which cost a few minutes. The echelle slitviewer filter wheel was also more recalcitrant than usual and got reported, although it didn't cost any time. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- NM04 E I/S 03:44 03:49 Slitty hard crash, power cycle ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 00:18 Echelle 50(-242) 219 68 0.2/0.5 239 18 ND1 1.4 02:19 Echelle -25(-342) 85 57 -0.3/-0.6 212 23 ND2 0.7 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 40 18 31 216 (SW) 4041 mstly cldy wind,dust 17:01 41 18 19 211 (SSW) 7013 mstly cldy wind,dust 18:01 41 18 33 235 (SW) 19791 mstly cldy wind,dust 19:01 38 20 21 210 (SSW) 10282 mstly cldy wind,dust 20:01 38 22 29 196 (SSW) 21959 mstly cldy wind,dust 21:01 38 21 35 232 (SW) 11194 mstly cldy dust 22:01 36 19 25 209 (SSW) 6275 mstly cldy dust 23:01 35 16 29 228 (SW) 1799 mstly clr none 00:01 33 17 20 241 (WSW) 1671 mstly cldy none 01:01 33 15 23 226 (SW) 1126 mstly cldy none 02:01 32 16 23 207 (SSW) 1184 ptly cldy none 03:01 30 16 20 224 (SW) 1101 mstly clr none 04:01 29 16 16 223 (SW) 1136 mstly clr none 05:01 29 17 19 217 (SW) 1262 ptly cldy none 06:01 29 18 21 219 (SW) 1250 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
