The first-half observer gave the last hour of his time to GRB followup, which I obtained the images for. The NIC ICC needed to be rebooted before I got going because of unbearable delays between images, but after the single reboot it behaved perfectly. The telescope also behaved well, although no one tried to observe in the positions where azimuth reverses direction. The echelle guiding software had trouble guiding on a compact (but not quit stellar) planetary nebula, but worked perfectly when the observer switched to guiding on a field star. At one point we had three instruments in use simultaneously -- one on the sky and two taking various cals. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:08 DISslit 0(526) 150 65 0.0/0.9 359 12 - 1.0 19:36 Echelle 50(-203) 131 46 0.1/-0.2 347 7 Clear 1.2 23:08 NIC 150(1022) 42 71 1.0/-0.0 18 11 Ks 0.78 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 34 -4 2 350 (N) 696 mstly clr none 17:01 33 -1 11 316 (NW) 678 mstly clr none 18:01 32 -1 13 315 (NW) 693 mstly clr none 19:01 32 2 3 344 (NNW) 745 mstly clr none 20:01 32 3 6 359 (N) 708 clear none 21:01 33 4 10 18 (NNE) 725 clear none 22:01 33 3 3 0 (N) 731 clear none 23:01 33 3 12 5 (N) 802 clear none 00:01 33 2 18 33 (NNE) 782 mstly clr none 01:01 33 2 11 36 (NE) 896 mstly clr none 02:01 33 -1 26 21 (NNE) 946 mstly clr none 03:01 32 1 21 33 (NNE) 961 mstly clr none 04:01 34 -4 18 29 (NNE) 545 mstly clr none 05:01 34 -8 5 10 (N) 603 mstly clr none 06:01 33 -6 1 356 (N) 597 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
