We opened briefly at 04:50 just to have clouds form over top of us 30 mins later. Since my observer really didn't get any science I called all the time lost due to weather. Pointing was off when we went to our first target (star was almost on the top of the slitview image). I adjusted it. After the next slew the pointing changed again in the opposite direction, although less than the first adjustment. Clouds then closed us down. NICFPS was taken off the vacuum for about 1 hrs (while I openend and then closed). I did not turn the heaters off during this time (I forgot on my way down the stairs and wanted to get my observer on the sky ASAP). Since we closed so soon after opening I just restarted the vacuum, which took about 15-20 mins, and never turned on/off the heaters). The vacuum was reading around 1.8e-6 when I left this morning. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 04:58 Echelle -217(-470) 16 59 1.2/1.0 280 7 ND2 1.06 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 37 28 13 203 (SSW) 386 Mst.
