We were able to get focused, then the clouds moved back in during the setup on the first target. After an hour or so of clouds thickening to overcast, I closed the dome. At 23:30 I opened for a hole, re-focused, then again got hit by clouds on the first target. Since the clouds were partly orographic, they were very hard to predict from the satellite and we couldn't tell when another hole might open up. It turned out... never. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:32 DISslit 75(686) 131 65 2.1/2.9 263 17 - 1.3 23:42 DISslit 0(672) -45 38 1.9/1.9 249 15 - 1.1 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 40 12 15 272 (W) 808 cloudy none 17:01 37 13 17 260 (W) 590 ptly cldy none 18:01 36 15 22 262 (W) 516 cloudy none 19:01 36 14 16 259 (W) 525 cloudy none 20:01 36 11 10 272 (W) 536 cloudy none 21:01 36 5 14 267 (W) 477 cloudy none 22:01 36 3 21 245 (WSW) 785 cloudy none 23:01 36 5 22 239 (WSW) 442 ptly cldy none 00:01 36 7 15 243 (WSW) 340 cloudy none 01:01 36 11 19 256 (WSW) 304 cloudy none 02:01 35 12 18 252 (WSW) 247 cloudy none 03:01 34 11 21 249 (WSW) 332 cloudy none 04:01 33 11 13 257 (WSW) 327 cloudy none 05:01 32 13 17 269 (W) 324 cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
