Improvements were made to the parameters especially in the parts of the sky to the North-East and North-West were the azimuth directions reverse. Small compromises had to be made when these new values were tested on the high altitude meridian crossings however. In the end we believe we did make improvements but were not able to find parameter values perfect for every part of the sky. Thanks to Russet for coming in first half to help with drive tuning. Seeing was too poor to test the trouble areas with spicam blind tracking tests. Likewise, as we were about to adust the focus position of Fastcam the winds became too strong to open. We were closed the rest of the night due to high winds and dust counts. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:02 SPIcam 100(966) -56 41 3.8/3.4 204 18 r 2.58 21:10 SPIcam 60(914) 57 42 3.3/3.2 226 31 r 3.1 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 44 12 15 189 (S) 1402 clear none 17:01 44 12 22 231 (SW) 2282 clear none 18:01 41 8 23 234 (SW) 2311 clear none 19:01 40 5 26 234 (SW) 2129 clear none 20:01 39 6 21 231 (SW) 1824 clear none 21:01 39 7 15 235 (SW) 1808 clear none 22:01 38 9 17 234 (SW) 1981 mstly cldy none 23:01 37 8 27 226 (SW) 1539 cloudy none 00:01 36 9 33 221 (SW) 1389 prtly cldy windy 01:01 35 8 34 238 (WSW) 1911 prtly cldy windy 02:01 34 7 29 255 (WSW) 11730 prtly cldy windy, dust 03:01 33 7 26 236 (SW) 9387 prtly cldy dust 04:01 32 9 20 264 (W) 8434 prtly cldy dust 05:01 31 11 21 239 (WSW) 10613 prtly cldy dust Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
