Low humidity despite very low local clouds. NICFPS was not talking to tcc during check out tonight. The TUI gui was blank. I exited and restarted the NICFPS-ICS on the ICC and then hub startNubs nicfps, nicfps expose init, and hub startNubs nicfpsExopose. Then things seemed to work. 19:55 opened when overcast skies became party cloudy and radar returns had moved away. Still battling clouds on and off all evening. 2nd half Observing Specialist: R.McMillan Second half continued with varying clouds and mostly poor seeing. The clouds grew thicker as the morning progressed, and we couldn't get anything for about the last hour before twilight. Everything worked well, including the slitviewer shutter, but the red grating I failed to align a couple of nights ago looked so far off I decided to stay late in the morning to improve on it. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:10 NICFPS -225(27) 11 56 -1.5 -0.7 -1.9 -1.5 -1.1 Ks 1.6 22:10 NICFPS -100(131) 11 59 -0.9 -1.6 -2.2 -2.0 -1.5 Ks 1.0 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:02 32 8 2 212 (SSW) 82 cloudy none 17:02 33 -6 5 261 (W) 79 cloudy none 18:02 33 -1 1 309 (NW) 83 mstly cldy none 19:02 29 4 5 186 (S) 103 mstly cldy none 20:02 29 0 4 201 (SSW) 141 ptly cldy none 21:02 30 0 2 178 (S) 209 ptly cldy none 22:02 29 0 2 227 (SW) 145 ptly cldy none 23:02 30 -3 5 90 (E) 140 mstly clr none 00:02 28 7 9 56 (NE) 146 ptly cldy none 01:02 25 14 14 69 (ENE) 247 ptly cldy none 02:02 25 14 11 80 (E) 207 ptly cldy none 03:02 24 16 8 79 (E) 265 ptly cldy none 04:02 24 17 16 65 (ENE) 285 mstly cldy none 05:02 24 17 17 65 (ENE) 316 mstly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
