Wind gusts of 24 mph blowing snow at 22:00 set off the rain sensor. Could not open all 1st half. DIS slitviewer was sticky for the first 3-4 images then seemed to work fine which is an improvement over the last time temperatures were down as low as they were tonight. The insulating box seems to be helping. Also increasing the exp time to 10 sec helps. Took additional DIS saturation images (files are in tonight's APO UT directory) and worked on DIS documentation. 2nd half Observing Specialist: R.McMillan Second half continued humid except for a brief period of overcast. I worked on documentation, cleanup of old files, and alignment of DIS gratings (which was unsuccessful due to incompatible hardware). ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:01 22 18 14 265 (W) 448 cloudy none 17:01 20 17 13 241 (WSW) 517 cloudy none 18:01 18 15 12 264 (W) 551 mstly cldy none 19:01 18 15 11 279 (W) 436 ptly cldy none 20:01 19 16 14 278 (W) 382 clear none 21:01 19 16 17 279 (W) 397 clear none 22:01 19 16 14 288 (WNW) 335 clear none 23:01 19 16 18 300 (WNW) 327 ptly cldy none 00:01 19 16 16 304 (NW) 348 ptly cldy none 01:01 18 14 15 307 (NW) 408 mstly cldy none 02:01 18 15 12 357 (N) 322 mstly clr none 03:01 17 14 13 348 (NNW) 308 clear none 04:01 17 14 16 16 (NNE) 292 clear none 05:01 16 13 14 11 (N) 287 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
