The outside dust counter stopped reporting data at around 18:00 (the enclosure still reported data). Jon Brinkman was here and able to look into the problem and get it working again. Seeing was fairly good tonight but variable. 2nd half Observing Specialist: R.McMillan Second half was clear with good seeing. Everything worked well, including the DIS slitviewer shutter. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:50 SPIcam -50(-36) 37 51 1.3 2.3 1.5 1.2 1.0 -- 1.0 18:45 NICFPS -225(126) -97 46 1.0 1.3 0.6 0.8 1.0 Ks 0.9 00:15 DISslit -160(-401) 63 64 -0.3 -0.82 -1.46 -1.13 -0.5 - 1.0 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:01 37 3 9 336 (NNW) 125 clear none 17:01 36 1 5 348 (NNW) 45 clear none 18:01 35 2 9 1 (N) clear none 19:01 34 2 8 285 (WNW) clear none 20:01 33 2 8 284 (WNW) clear none 21:01 33 1 3 322 (NW) 82 clear none 22:01 32 1 2 259 (W) 70 clear none 23:01 31 0 4 192 (SSW) 63 clear none 00:01 32 6 8 245 (WSW) 276 clear none 01:01 32 4 10 232 (SW) 267 clear none 02:01 31 4 8 257 (WSW) 198 clear none 03:01 31 4 7 273 (W) 178 clear none 04:01 31 4 12 302 (WNW) 161 clear none 05:01 31 7 9 277 (W) 149 clear none 06:01 32 7 8 276 (W) 145 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
