We were able to get focused very soon after 12 degree twilight and had surprisingly good seeing for that time of night ~1.0". Good seeing all the rest of 1st half. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: R.McMillan Second half was as smooth as a very smooth thing. Except for one point where there was a sudden jump of a couple arcseconds (don't know why, it wasn't windy -- happened between dcam images 376 and 378), which was too large for the guider to cope with. But I got the star back in a couple of minutes. Thin clouds later in the morning, in combination with the moon, did make photon collection a little chancy. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------- 18:05 Echelle -149(-785) 314 39 7.2 9.3 8.4 8.5 7.4 -- 1.0 19:55 Echelle -31(-730) 260 47 7.4 7.3 6.9 7.3 7.0 ND1 0.9 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:01 52 29 9 236 (SW) 744 clear none 17:01 47 31 9 227 (SW) 996 clear none 18:01 45 30 12 219 (SW) 1294 clear none 19:01 45 30 10 213 (SSW) 1242 clear none 20:01 45 27 11 234 (SW) 1068 clear none 21:01 46 21 16 242 (WSW) 610 clear none 22:01 45 21 12 224 (SW) 663 clear none 23:01 45 21 12 239 (WSW) 569 clear none 00:01 44 20 8 230 (SW) 537 clear none 01:01 43 18 8 269 (W) 500 clear none 02:01 43 22 11 284 (WNW) 617 clear none 03:01 44 24 14 292 (WNW) 685 mstly clr none 04:01 45 21 12 302 (WNW) 534 mstly clr none 05:01 44 22 10 312 (NW) 585 mstly clr none 06:01 43 18 11 0 (N) 468 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
